Matt Clausen has been holding down the drum groove with Miles From Chicago since late 2012.
The youngest member of the band, he has been playing drums for the better part of his life, in
various symphonic bands, marching bands, jazz bands, pit orchestras and a local jazz choir. After
high school and throughout his twenties and early thirties, he played with a variety of bands that
helped him master musical styles ranging from blues, swing, funk, country, and lounge cocktail
hour, to stage band rock and roll.
Over the last decade or so, he's toured all over Washington state and Colorado music scenes to
as far away as Stromstad, Sweden with several classic rock cover bands. Since 2007, he's also
been playing with Gertrude's Hearse from Anacortes, with MFC saxophone player Keith Stone.
They do a variety of cover and original honky tonk, bluegrass, jazz, blues, country western and
jam rock tunes.
Matt has a high level of energy and relentless stamina. Coupled with his expert ability to play
